While the decision of an early lockdown for Nepal, the government\u00a0 might have delayed a potentially deadly COVID-19 health emergency, but there are economic and <\/span>humanitarian crises looming on the horizon<\/span><\/a><\/span> bringing the Nepalese people against a very <\/span>different reality. <\/span>People who have a roof over their head and food on their table during the country\u2019s lock-down, are considered to have their own version of \u201cquality time with family\u201d however for the homeless or destitute, or the people who rely on their daily wages to provide for their family, it is a completely <\/span>harsher <\/span>reality.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our Creative Director, Sanyukta Shrestha is working relentlessly alongside with the help of our team both in U.K. and Nepal, putting fashion to the service of the greater good. Over the last weeks, our brand has been making PPE Visors and special handmade masks<\/a> to support the NHS, Key Workers and the Vulnerable communities in Nepal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We have already been working on our <\/span>Nepal Covid-19 project<\/span><\/a>, with hundreds & hundreds of special handmade masks already made to help people in need. Earlier this month, we lovingly made masks for all of\u00a0 Aama Ko Ghar (shelter for Homeless) but after hearing their day to day struggle of food supply, we took a step further to help them more by supplying rice and other basic necessity products, enough to help them for two to three weeks so they can ensure their meals during the lockdown at least.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But yesterday we got a call from Aamako Ghar unexpectedly, that got us very worried. Since the beginning of our Brand, we have been actively supporting the charitable work with selection of organisations and foundations. AamaKo Ghar is an organisation entirely run through donations made by individuals, a shelter for homeless elderly people and young groups of children in Nepal, who could be harshly affected by Covid-19 Lockdown. They suffer to get their daily meal and proper health care after the government announced further lockdown. Aama says \u2018it has been a tough time due to lockdown and really grateful for your support during this difficult time even all the way from London\u2019, however she added \u2018People used to bring food on daily basis has stopped and no one comes here anymore\u2019, and I am extremely worried as lockdown continues, there would not have enough supply to feed all the residents who rely on local food donations\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It is very important to help these people as most of them are between the age of 65 to 99 and the rest are children mostly under 10 years old\u00a0 to newborn, who otherwise have no other means of earning to feed themself. Our hearts break by the thought of people abandoning their family members to Aama that has been committed to a lifetime shelter for 85 people who are in desperate need of something to eat. We are in constant communication with Aama and we are committed to protect and serve them, as much as possible. We would not let them sleep hungry. That has been our top priority.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
