Today, we would like to share\u00a0an elegant beach wedding<\/strong> of one of our beautiful real brides. In June 2015, Telisha and Samuel got married on a lovely beach in Queensland, Australia.<\/strong> The pair\u00a0met through work; Telisha was working for a client that Sam was delivering a project for in Australia (Sam is English but lived in Australia for 13 years). Both agreed it was love at first sight and remember the moment they\u00a0first saw each other as clearly as if it was yesterday \u2013 a colleague took Telisha to Sam’s\u00a0desk as they\u00a0needed his help, and she still remembers feeling the \u2018lightning bolt\u2019 as soon as he turned to face her and stumbling over her\u00a0words (given how chatty Telisha usually is, it\u2019s quite a big deal for her\u00a0to be lost for words!)<\/p>\n

“Sanyukta’s dresses are so special in more ways than one. The fabrics she uses are unbelievably beautiful, her designs all manage to be classic, elegant, modern AND unique simultaneously, and she has such a talent for honing in on what will really make a bride shine. THE PROPOSAL<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sam was super sneaky!\u00a0 It was 2 weeks before Christmas, 2015. He actually took me on a surprise trip to Paris the weekend before, where everyone was expecting him to propose, and he didn\u2019t. The following weekend when I was least expecting the proposal, we went ice skating at the Natural History Museum<\/strong> (something I\u2019ve wanted to do since moving to London) and for a late dinner at Bibendum in Kensington<\/strong> \u2013 a fitting venue given we both like Art Deco architecture and he is a mad Formula 1 fan (so of course, I have also grown to love F1 over our 6 years together!). We were reminiscing on what a great year we had had together and how it would be difficult to top it the following year, when he very subtly extracted the ring, slipped it on my finger and asked me to be his wife. I was so shocked it took me about 2 minutes to reply!<\/p>\n

THE VENUE<\/strong><\/p>\n

The wedding ceremony<\/strong> was in Maison La Plage Grove in Noosa, Queensland, Australia.<\/strong> The lunchtime wedding reception<\/strong> was at Sails Restaurant<\/strong>, Noosa.\u00a0Given that we were based in the UK, and most of my family were in Australia, the biggest decision was where to host the wedding. We looked at the UK, Italy and Australia, before deciding on Australia due to wanting most of my family to attend.\u00a0Once we had decided on Australia, the venue, and more important its availability was probably the next biggest factor. We ideally wanted a location and venue that was special to us a couple, hence choosing Noosa as it was a favourite spot to visit for day trips when we lived in my hometown (Brisbane).<\/p>\n

THE THEME<\/strong><\/p>\n

We knew what sort of \u2018feel\u2019 and styling we didn\u2019t want, and throughout the planning process just focused on finding things that were aesthetically appealing to us and congruent with who we are as a couple. Working collaboratively with our wedding Florist, Stylist and Reception venue really helped us firm up our styling \u2013 We were amazed at how much they were able to narrow in on what would suit us despite our vague (and contradictory!) statements that we wanted Classic, Sophisticated, Elegant, Beautiful, Intimate & Original!<\/strong><\/p>\n

MOST MAGICAL MOMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our first look. It was such a special, intimate moment and the expression on Sam\u2019s face when he turned and saw me for the first time, before the wedding ceremony<\/strong>, just the two of us, was so moving and something I will cherish forever.<\/p>\n

THE WEDDING DRESS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Honestly I have never felt so unbelievably glamorous yet so comfortable in my life! The fabric we used was such a lightweight beautiful silk<\/strong> that was incredibly smooth yet felt like wearing nothing (in a good way) and because of the bespoke design process<\/strong>, my gown fit me better than any item of clothing I\u2019ve ever owned. I felt like I was floating on air the whole day. My husband absolutely loved it as well. Thank you so much Sanyukta for making me feel like an absolute goddess on my wedding day.<\/p>\n

BEING A SANYUKTA SHRESTHA BRIDE<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was aware of fair trade organic fabrics<\/strong> and have occasionally purchased items made from them previously (I wish there was a bigger selection in mainstream clothes). I am generally quite socially and ecologically conscious,<\/strong> but have to admit I was drawn to Sanyukta\u2019s unique and elegant designs<\/strong> initially and hadn\u2019t noticed the fair trade\/eco element.<\/p>\n

WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING ADVICE FOR BRIDES<\/strong><\/p>\n

Go and see Sanyukta<\/strong>! Haha. I would say choose something that you feel comfortable in (it\u2019s a long day). Also, if you can, work with a smaller boutique rather than a chain as the attention to detail and individualised service you will receive really takes the stress out of the purchasing process, and I feel you end up with a better quality and value for money overall.<\/p>\n

My super-sweet Mum arranged this for me as a surprise. She created a bouquet charm with blue ribbon, featuring her family pin (something old and something borrowed) and a pendant containing a picture and message from my late-brother (something new). It was subtle and perfect.<\/p>\n
